Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Khairathabad Constituency and Industrial Unions Leader P Janardhan Reddy defeated the Punyavathi, wife of CPI(M) Polit Bureau Member B Raghavalu by 160 votes.
Janardhan Reddy is the honorary president of the Progressive Front for the elections on the recognized union of the Bharath Heavy Plates and Vessels.
