Four arrested and vehicles worth Rs. 60 lakhs seized

On Sunday, in a major break through the Gajuwaka police busted an inter-state automobile theft racket and apprehended four persons. They seized vehicles all worth about nearly Rs.60lakhs from the accused. On a tip off, the police arrested one L Harikrishna, a two wheeler offender was moving on a stolen motorcycle caught at Ayyappaswamy temple on Sunday night.
During investigation, the police found him along with three others was involved in several vehicle theft cases in the city. Later, the Gajuwaka police nabbed a mediator V Bhaskara Rao from Akkayyapalem, an RTO agent K Narasimha Murty from MVP Colony and a stolen automobile seller D Raveendra Reddy from his house in Simhachalam Devasthanam Bus stop. The police seized eight four wheelers and two wheelers from the accused. The South Zone ACP P Venkatarao speaking at a press conference on Sunday said that the accused had stolen vehicles from other states and transported them to the city. They forged and fabricated documents from the stolen vehicles and later sold them. He said efforts are on to trace the original owners of the vehicles.
