Rs. 4 lakhs worth of stolen Jewellery recovered

Arrested believed to be linked with 2004 thefts

The Gajuwaka police on Thursday on a tip off arrested a gang of three burglars and recovered gold and silver worth over Rs. 4 lakhs from their possession.

Additional DCP P Rama Rao speaking with the media on Thursday said that the trios were nabbed near BC Road when they were in possession of the valuables. They committed 14 house burglaries in Gajuwaka area, looted a gold shop at Gopalapatnam in the year 2004 and a house burglary at Adavivaram. The criminals used to disguise themselves as rag pickers and identified targets during the day. The ACP (South) P Venkata Rao was present at the meet.
