Gajuwaka Police makes arrest following complaint from diamond unit

The Gajuwaka Police arrested Pyla Venkata Rao of a unit based in the Special Economic Zone on Saturday on the charge of smuggling a diamond.

The management of diamond polishing unit alleged that Rao was given a raw diamond for polishing on June 18. The diamond given to him is worth Rs. 1 lakh. Rao returned the polished diamond. However, after a couple of days time, the management found that the diamond received by them was not the original one and is of a sub-standard diamond variety.

After a complaint was lodged by the Management, the police arrested Mr. Rao and began investigating the case.
