Allegedly stayed without valid documents

An illegal immigrant from Nigeria, Monyeka Paul Chuba was arrested by the police from a lodge in Gajuwaka on Monday for staying in the city without valid documents. The police also seized 20 liquor bottles from him.

During raids on various lodges in Gajuwaka late in the night, the police found Chuba moving suspiciously with 20 liquor bottles. On being questioned, he produced a photostat copy of his passport.

He reportedly claimed to have come to India on January 25 this year and was staying at Mohali in Punjab on student visa. However, he could not produce any valid documents to support his claims and gave no reasons for his stay in Visakhapatnam. The police registered cases under Passport Act, Excise Act and Foreigners Act and investigating the case.
